Woman dies in Navilawa River incident, search continues for missing husband

A woman in her 20s has died in an alleged drowning incident, while the search continues for her husband who was swept away in the Navilawa River in Sabeto.
Police said the couple were attempting to cross the river yesterday afternoon when they were swept away by strong currents.
The woman was later found a few metres from the crossing point. Her husband remains missing.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the victim’s cause of death.
