A woman in her 60s has died following a motor vehicle accident in Savusavu on Tuesday morning.

Police said the woman was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old when the vehicle veered onto the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming car driven by a 51-year-old man.

The crash occurred near the Nasue Settlement in Vunilagi, Savusavu, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The woman, who is from Buca Village, and two children aged six and 15 were rushed to Savusavu Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead by medical officials.

The two children remain admitted in hospital.

Police said the driver of the vehicle will be questioned as investigations continue.
