A hearty congratulation to the Fijian Drua for ending their three-year losing away games jinx at the GIO Stadium in Canberra last Saturday night.

The Drua’s 33-28 win over the ACT Brumbies was their second away win during their four years of participation in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.

The Drua’s last away win was on February 27, 2023 at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, where Taniela Rakuro’s try saw them beat Moana Pasifika 36-34.

The recent win will be a morale booster for the Glen Jackson-coached side as they chase for a top six finish to qualify for the play-offs for the third time.

The players are now confident as they know they have what it takes to win any Super Rugby match regardless of where it is play- home or away.

Nothing is impossible, if only they have the will and the heart to conquer the opposition.

This is where consistency is important, where they must soon do it again and not to wait for another three years.

The win in Canberra should now be water under the bridge.

This weekend the Drua has another massive challenge as they travel to Hamilton in New Zealand to face the Chiefs on Sunday.

The Chiefs are currently leading the Super Rugby points table and will be playing in front of their fans at the FMG Stadium Waikato.

It will be a big challenge for the Drua to record their second away game this season but it is not an impossible task.

Anything can happen on game day simply because the Drua can do it again. Toso, Drua, toso!
