Neptune Pacific Line vessel Captaine Dampier frequents the Suva and Lautoka ports to offload imports and load on exports for the Oceania region.

A senior officer who did not want to be named said NPL specialised in containerised cargoes plus over dimensional freight, bulk cargoes including grains, and liquid commodities stored in tanks.

“This enhanced Neptune Pacific Line’s reach into the South Pacific further; adding to their established network in Nauru and the Solomon islands by gaining agents in Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, and Papua New Guinea,” the senior officer said.

“At sea we specialise in the carriage of containerised cargoes and awkward over dimensional freight, bulk cargoes including grains, and liquid commodities in vessels fitted with tanks,” he said.

“To handle perishable cargoes and frozen meat and fish, we have an extensive fleet of refrigerated containers.”

The Singapore container vessel Captaine Dampier had berthed at Suva wharf over the weekend before leaving for Lautoka on Monday.

It comes to Fiji every week – after every seven to eight days.

Captaine Dampier was built in 2001 and is of 185 meters length and beam of 26 meters, her gross tonnage is 16803.

The multipurpose vessel is able to handle containers and other kinds of cargo.

Neptune Pacific Line is Captaine Dampier’s local agent; the company specialises in liner and project cargoes in the Pacific.

Captaine Dampier facilitates trading between the Oceania region and the rest of the world.

In October 2014 NPL had acquisitioned Pacific Forum Line and Polynesian Shipping Line.

According to the senior official their task is to ensure that all freight are delivered to their customers in good conditions.

“On shore, our agency team has a can-do attitude and strives to ensure all freight is delivered in great condition, and on time at the lowest price and the supporting documentation is done right the first time to avoid unnecessary clearance delays at its destination,” he said.

“In Fiji, we provide third party agency services for CMA-CGM and ANL-US Lines.”

The vessel agency also owns and operates container parks in Suva and Lautoka.
