$1,500 At Stake For Bowl Pairs

While the Ba Bowling club is hosting the Islands Electric 2023 Pickett Cup pairs championship this weekend the event will be held at Lautoka.

Club president, Raymond Singh has confirmed that for the first time a maximum of 16 pairs teams from Suva, Tamavua, Rewa, Labasa, Sheraton, Nadi, Lautoka , Ba and Rakiraki will contest for top honours with a total cash prize of $1500 at stake alongside a number of novelty prizes.

National reps Rajinesh Prasad and Kushal Pillay of the Sheraton club are the defending champions.

Golfers Roneel Prakash and Singh with Iliyaz Khan and Maika Kasami will carry the Ba flag. Father and son combination of Rajiv Lal and Ariyan Lal are representing Rakiraki for the first time.

In from national rep Semesi Nasiravati former national snooker champion Padiyachi and professional golfer Olaf Alan Jnr will all provide stiff competition to the defending champions.

The two days of action of bowling will see the winners collecting $600 cash with the newly engraved Picket Cup trophy plus gold medals.

Reporting time on Saturday is 8.30am while Sunday programme starts 9am.
