$50,000 At Stake For The Fijian Cup 9's Rugby League Tornament

Up for grabs in the biggest Fi­jian Cup 9s (rugby league) tournament is $50,000 that kicks off at Lawaqa Park on Friday, with the finals the following day.

According to tournament chief of operations, Epeli Tagivetaua, four teams from New Zealand are join­ing the locals for the $30,000 prize­money at stake, for both the men and women divisions winners.

“Sixteen mens teams featuring 12 local and four New Zealand clubs will battle for the main prizemoney of a whooping $15,000 in the men’s division; while eight women’s teams will also contend for the main prizemoney $15,000 paralleled to the men’s prize pool,” Tagivetaua said.
