It’s now or never for our locally-based players.
They will get a chance to impress Fiji Airways Flying Fijians head coach John McKee in the return Test clash against the Maori All Blacks in Rotorua, New Zealand, this Saturday.
McKee yesterday named seven local-based players in the 26-member travelling squad with the intention of building strong depth for the September Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The locally-based players are Luke Tagi, Joeli Veitayaki, Veremalua Vugakoto, Johnny Dyer, Mosese Voka, Frank Lomani and Serupepeli Vularika.
“One of the big things we need going towards the Rugby World Cup is depth in our squad. What we want is competition for spots so we’re working really hard as a team to achieve that,” McKee said.
The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians beat the Maori All Blacks 27-10 last Saturday at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
