Bukuya’s Iron Brawler Alifereti Kauyaca is looking forward to a few international bouts to build his confidence and exposure after he successfully defended his Fiji (BCF) cruiserweight title against veteran boxer Joseph Kwadjo.
Kauyaca won on a unanimous points decision after 10 rounds at the Vodafone Arena, Suva on Saturday night during the Bluewater Boxing Promotions programme.
“My faith in God and all those who had been with me through hard times motivated me to win the fight,” Kauyaca said.

“All glory to God, to be honest I wasn’t fit for this fight as it was the first time for me to drop four kilos for this fight,” he said.
Kauyaca admitted he lacked power in his punches as the weight loss drained his energy.
“Had to stick to the game plan, boxing smart, which was executing properly, and I managed to get the victory.”
