A torrid encounter is expected when INKK Fiji Rugby Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy winners Jack’s Nadi hosts challengers Nadroga at Prince Charles Park, on Saturday.

This was the view of former Nadi Rugby Union secretary Jeff Tamata, who said Nadi and Nadroga were the only two teams in the country that have won the Farebrother Trophy more than any other provincial teams.

The last Farebrother encounter between the two sides was at the same venue in 2019, where Nadroga convincingly won 20-3, in front of a capacity crowd.

“Both teams have a relatively young squad with few prominent old warhorses in their midst,” Tamata said.

In the last three Skipper games this year, both teams won its respective games and are in the top three positions in the latest points table.

Nadi leads with 47 points, ahead of Naitasiri (38) and Nadroga (34).

“Both teams have a good set of assistant coaches.

“Both teams are vanua-based with lots of supporters. But history favours the mighty Stallions,” Tamata said.
