Ba Provincial Prominent Athletes Aim To Do School And Family Proud

Two students of Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute have been eyed to be prominent athletes that are likely
to attain gold medals at this year’s Coca Cola Games.
Year 12 student, Anaseini Sirisani and Year 9 student, Semisi Apakuki Jnr were the two individuals that displayed outstanding efforts during the school’s inter-house competition at Lautoka’s Churchill Park last Friday.
Anaseini, originally from Vanua Levu won first place in all her events which included the 200meters
event, 4x100 meters, 400meters and javelin.
She had been preparing with her school team since December and is content that all tireless training was paid off.
The 18-year-old is now determined to bring back at least one gold medal from the Coke Games.
“It’s a must that I do my school proud and bring back at least one gold medal,” she said.
“Now my main focus is on the zone meet and I am slowly preparing for that and at the same time concentrate on my studies.”
Semisi also won first place in all his events. This included 1500meters, 800meters, 4x400 meters and
400meters.
“If I do make it to the Coke Games this year I want to make my family proud,” he said.
Around 30 students will be representing the school in the 2021 Lautoka Zone.
Meanwhile, Tomanivi House won first place during the school’s inter-house competition, with
Koroyanitu House coming in second and Vaturua House coming in at third place.

Best disciplined house – Vaturua House
Winner girls division – Tomanivi House
Winner boys division – Koroyanitu House
