2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants victors Rewa Football Association (RFA) hosted a thanksgiving dinner for their gladiators last night at Nausori.

Team director Lawrence Nath said, “Our players and the coach will receive $1000 cash each as their efforts.”

The function was for the RFA winning side to receive its share of the prize-money and gifts from sponsors.

The side walked away $17,000 richer on Sunday as that was the major prize purse; this was topped up by sponsors who felt that it was the right time to give rather than receive.

Rewa beat neighbours Suva 1-0 in the final.

“This is a good bonus for them to take back to their families to catch up on their financial needs.

“Winning the BOG title is nothing new for Rodu as he has also has a stint of victories as a Rewa player.

“The former national rep is now the national women’s team coach,” he said.
