Boxer Naliva Trains At Sand Dunes
Fiji’s light heavyweight champion Savenaca Naliva is preparing well to face Australian boxer Jason Eric Whateley for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Pan Pacific cruiserweight title at the Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane in Australia on April 13.

Fiji’s light heavyweight champion Savenaca Naliva is preparing well to face Australian boxer Jason Eric Whateley for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Pan Pacific cruiserweight title at the Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane in Australia on April 13.
Naliva, a Sorokoba, Ba native, like the national sevens and Flying Fijians side is now training at the Sigatoka sand dunes as part of his preparations for the Queensland fight.
“I am working hard for this fight, we have been in camp for three weeks now,” Naliva said.
“I am training hard to bring the title home that is why I am training at the Sigatoka sand dunes,” he said.
“At the moment I am preparing and training really hard for this title fight in Brisbane. I am hoping to bring the victory back home.
“I would like to thank everyone who is helping me in this preparation. My training is going well.”
South Pacific Boxing Promotions promoter Freddy Chand said they have been working hard for the title fight.
Chand acknowledged SBP director Mohammed Shameem for helping them throughout their preparation.
“From Naliva and team, we would like to thank Shameem for helping us from Day One till now and he is also getting our trainers together in Brisbane,” Chand said.
“We’re pledging all our Fiji fans to support us so that we can bring the victory home.”
