A total of 124 golfers are confirmed for the 2022 Sheraton Fiji Bula Reunion Golf at the Denarau Championship Golf Course this weekend.
The event organised by New Zealand Par Golfing is held after a two-year lapse.
Director Dennis Langdon said, they are back in the country to celebrate their long awaited return to a newly revitalised, renovated iconic Sheraton Fiji Bula Reunion Golf.
She added that the Bula Reunion is one hell of a party involving golfers and friends of New Zealand golfing.
These golfers have travelled around New Zealand and internationally, as well.
“It’s good to be back. It’s been a long time since we were here in August 2019. We sold out two tours- 2020 and 2021- but had to cancel it due to COVID,” she said.
Among the international players are Tracy Duncan and Bridget Weaver.
“So there’s a couple of local girls but not quite the same numbers, but it is people that were booked for 2020 and 2021 and could only get here in 2022.
“There are 124 players with approximately two thirds are women golfers as they play on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
“It’s a modified stableford system, and you’re playing with a partner so you add up your two scores every day.
“And then it will be the cumulative of the four rounds awarded on Friday night.”
Some big names taking part include: Sally Ussher, Rachael Saunders, Daiana Clark, Lizzie Aspland, Debbie Lovert, Janet Dingle, Karen Avison, Lynell Howell, and Margat Drakeford.
