Cash incentive push: Nukuloa Ba athletes offered $500 for gold

Ali confirmed that if all athletes win gold, the company would organise the payouts in the first week of the second school term.

Ten (10) athletes from Nukuloa College in Ba have been chal­enged to deliver their best at the 2026 Fiji Finals (or Coca-Cola Games) at Suva's National Stadium.

The athletes have been offered cash in­centive if they win the gold medal.

During the team's kit handover on Monday, Tafzeel's Accounting and Taxation Service director, Tafzeel Ali, announced a $500 reward for each gold medal won.

"This outfit is more than just a uni­form," he said.

"It represents our identity, our unity and our spirit as Nukuloa College. Eve­ry colour and detail reflects who we are - strong, determined and ready to com­pete with honour. When we step onto

the field, we carry not only our names, but also the hopes of everyone in Ba."

Ali said the Fiji Finals is not only about medals.

"It is about discipline, teamwork and pushing ourselves beyond our limits. We are one team, one family striving for excellence together."

Ali confirmed that if all athletes win gold, the company would organise the payouts in the first week of the second school term.

"To our athletes, remember the hard work and sacrifices you have made. Go out there, give your best and make Nukuloa College proud."

Some notable names to look out for this year are Naomi Talakuli, who won a silver medal in last year's junior girls' discus.

The other two, Ravishek Kumar (jun­ior boys) and Amelia Naitoko (800m),won bronze medals in 2024.

Senior girls: Sainimili Nadule (200m)
