About 40 children accompanied by their parents attended the Mom N Pop League that got underway at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.

Speaking at the launch, Mom N Pop League programme co-ordinator, Filomena Liku said, the programme is for kids under the age of 10 who along with their parents or guardians enjoy the football programme that is being set.

“This is the first week of the programme and it is to take place for the next 10 weeks,” she said.

“The League is from 10am to 12 midday. We are looking forward to add more activities for the children. The activities include fun games with messages, football techniques and free football match for kids where their mum and dad could join in.

“However, so far we haven’t got any confirmed under-10 team registered as it is still work in progress.

“Our aim in hosting the League is to help develop children’s knowledge and skills about football.

“This is also the first time the programme is being held in Suva as previously it was only carried out in the Western division.”
