Cema Naisau scored three goals for Mailife Ba Women’s side as they walloped Tailevu/Naitasiri 7-1 in the Digicel Super Women’s League clash yesterday.
Despite the big win Ba coach Charlene Lockington has got other plans to lift their game.
What happened: Playing at Churchill Park, Lautoka, Ba took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute from a Naisau strike.
In the 21st minute, Koleta Likuculacula received a through pass from Luisa Simmons to slot in their second goal. Tailevu/Naitasiri pulled a goal back in the 33rd minute through Litiana Bakaniceva.
But Luisa Tamanitoakula extended Ba’s lead to 3-1 before Likuculacula made it 4-1 just before the interval.
Halftime: Ba 4-1 Tailevu/Naitasiri.
It was all Ba in the second half with Naisau putting in two goals followed by a Likuculacula classic.
Comments: Ba coach Charlene Lockington said: “We’re going to try and quicken the pace of our game because we have a lot of athletes in the team and we have speed.”
Tailevu/Naitasiri coach Elvis Gounder said: “It’s disappointing but we can’t do much,
“Ba is a good team and our girls played well but we managed to score one goal so we are improving.
