The Vasiti Adimaira captained- Lautoka Women’s rugby side scored a bonus point 30-10 win over Naitasiri in the ANZ Marama Championship at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Friday.
Dubbed the Maroons, the hosts did not waste time right from the first whistle as they ran in six tries under wet conditions.
The fries were scored by lock Avisaki Satala, wing Anabela Satala, centre Adi Raba, halfback Mere Tinai while lock Ana Nawaqasara dotted
down two tries.
Naitasiri managed to score two unconverted tries, to lock Nunia Uluikadavu and winger Mereani Solevu.
Halftime: Lautoka 20-5 Naitasiri
Comment: Lautoka captain Vasiti Adimaira said: “They wanted to start their campaign with a win at home.
“I thank the girls for playing their hearts out. This season is crucial and this win will set the pace for the entire season."
"Hope we can improve from where we left off last season," she said.
U19 result: Naitasiri 25-0 Lautoka.
