Denarau Hosts Game Fishing Tourney
The three day Fiji Classic rounds up on Sunday.

Sitting at first place and number three husband and wife Clay (513.5 points) and Kaydee (103.6) George are set to improve their standing in the Flame Tree Developments Fiji Classic game fishing tournament starting tomorrow at Denarau.
Number two on the points table is Scott McNair from Flame Tree with 250 points.
Denarau Game Fishing Club secretary Damon Gregg said, with competitions held earlier in the year is all but a distant memory due to COVID-19.
“The memorial competition held over the Fiji Day weekend and this weekend’s Fiji Classic, have given members a chance to get back on the water to chase the fish and the end of year bragging rights,” Gregg said.
Gregg added that the DGSFC is grateful and excited that Flame Tree Developments have taken the naming rights for this tournament.
“Anglers will be suitably impressed by the prizes available to anyone who enters this weekend,” he said.

Meanwhile in the boats ranking, Reelax’N with 825 ahead of Fruit Loop (314), La Moana (179.1), Pure Vida (120.7), Totoka Ni Wai (105.2), Wai Tadra (96.7), Zig Zag (84), Bite Me (81.8), Vuvale (69.2) and Ice T (55.6).
Captains’ briefing is at Cardos, 6pm today.
The winner collects $5000, plus fishing gear. The angler also gains entry into the prestigious 2022 World Offshore Fishing Championships, held annually in Costa Rica.
