DXC Support Boosts Raiwasa Taveuni

The Raiwasa Taveuni men’s rugby sevens team received their first major sponsor from DXC (Dynamic Xtreme Concept) in Lautoka yesterday.
This has boosted their chance of winning this weekend’s Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
The Raiwasa Taveuni side won the second leg of the Fiji Rugby sanctioned- Fun Flavour Super Sevens Series.
The 15-member squad received more than $8000 worth of sponsorship which catered for their registration fees, apparel and other needs.
DXC marketing executive, Jesal Jadav said it was pleasure to bring onboard the DXC Raiwasa Taveuni team after seeing their potential although they came all the way from Taveuni in Vanua Levu.
Team’s head coach, Filikesa Ratu said it was a milestone achievement for them to receive such a support from DXC.
“We are preparing for the Nawaka 7s and our goal is to win the tournament.
“Five of our players are in the Fiji 7s training squad but their absence will not be a sign of weakness for our team because we have been training in Taveuni.
“We needed financial support and this being our major sponsor has really boosted our spirits to achieve our goal.”
DXC sales executive James Vunituraga said they are committed to supporting the Taveuni-based team for all the local tournaments this year.
“The sponsorship covers merchandise apparel for the team and other merchandise that are in production. We will hand them over during other tournaments,” he said.
“They will wear their jerseys at the Nawaka 7s and next one will be at the 46th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s in Suva. We look forward to other local tournaments around the country where we can support the DXC Raiwasa Taveuni team.
“This team needs our support and that is why we are here to support local rugby tournaments where we follow our motto in supporting grassroots rugby and giving back to the community.
“We already have a women’s team, DXC Seahawks.”
He added that DXC is also supporting the 35th Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s sports festival by providing merchandise to the tournament organisers.
