Ex-7s Rep Achieves Dream
Cakaubalavu urges youths to keep on striving for success and utilise their talents despite their academic background.

Former Fiji Airways 7s player Apenisa Cakaubalavu was grateful to be one of the 217 recruits who were part of the Fiji Police Force passing-out parade at Nasova, Suva yesterday.
“It’s an emotional moment for me as it was four long months of training,” Cakaubalavu said.
“I am grateful to secure a steady form of employment; I can now shift my focus on rugby.

“I’ve been playing in the Police Blue 7s team; it has been my goal as a child to be a policeman.
“I thank everyone especially the parents for their presence here today (yesterday) for supporting us new recruits.
“We have created a special bond these past months as we faced a lot of challenges in our journey.”
Cakaubalavu urges youths to keep on striving for success and utilise their talents despite their academic background.
“It is my target now to try and don the white jersey for the sevens squad especially the Olympics next year,” he said.
Mum Kelera Waqatevuya left Waiqanake Village in Rewa to witness Cakaubalavu’s passing out parade.
“We left at 7am and reached Nasova at 8am. My son’s hard work is evidential in his success as he was in Fiji 7s team, travelled the world and now has become a policeman,” Waqatevuya said.
“I happy for what my son has achieved despite the hardship he faced when he was younger as his father passed away in 2016.”
Cakaubalavu is posted at Sigatoka to be near his wife and children.
