The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s, Great Britain have been grouped with hosts Japan, debutants.

Canada for the men’s tournament at the Tokyo Olympics next month.

Rugby Sevens World Cup and World Sevens Series champion New Zealand face neighbours.

Australia in Pool A which also features Argentina and South Ko­rea.

South Africa, who won bronze in 2016, are in Pool C with the United States, Kenya and Ireland.

Fiji beat Great Britain in the gold medal playoff at the 2016 Rio Olym­pics winning by 43-7.

While Coach Gareth Baber will name his 12 players today, all their pool opponents.

Interestingly, Japan included three Fijians in LoteTuqiri, Kame­li Sojima and Jone Seru. Canada’s all-time leading rugby sevens points-scorer Nathan Hirayama and the equally experienced Harry Jones co- captain Canada.

The pair have played nearly 700 World Series matches between them.

Great Britain will be led by Tom Mitchell and returning Olympians include Dan Norton, Dan Bibby and Ollie Lindsay-Hague.

In the women’s competition, gold medalists Australia are in Pool C with China, hosts Japan and the United States.

The rugby sevens event, which made its debut in 2016, will be held from July 26-31 at Tokyo Stadium. .
