Fiji Airways Fijian 7s captain Kalione Nasoko remains confident after their good performance on Day One of the USA 7s in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Speaking to World Rugby yesterday, Nasoko said they were taking things one day at a time.
“We’ll go for our recovery and at the hotel we’ll talk with our coaches, have a good sleep before we play Australia,” he said.
Nasoko also hinted that they were focused on completing their final pool match before they turn their attention to the Cup quarterfinals.
Australian 7s captain Lewis Holland said as a team they were equally confident of winning in Las Vegas.
“This is sevens rugby and anything can happen as all teams are here to win,” he said.
Coach Tim Walsh said their defence and ruck play were the highlight of their performance, which they hoped to continue today.
The second placed team in Pool D will face series leaders New Zealand in the Cup quarterfinal.
Fiji were to play Australia at 7:52 this morning in their final Pool D match at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
