The national under-19 cricket team won their opening two matches at the International Cricket Council (ICC) U19 Men's Cricket World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier in Darwin, Australia.
They defeated Papua New Guinea by 19 runs on Monday and beat Indonesia by one run on Wednesday. High Performance manager Tomasi Nawaciono said it was an absolute thriller of a game where it went down to the wire.
"The team will be riding high from their win against Papua New Guinea as they are currently ranked 20th in the world, however Fiji is currently unranked in the 50 over format," he said.
"This is a big boost for not only the team but also Cricket Fiji as we know we are on the right track in our development pathway, however we need to improve our batting in the next couple of games as our strength lies in our bowling attack."
