The Sofi Diyalowai captained- Team Fiji women's football side has booked a spot for the gold medal play-off against Papua New Guinea at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara, Solomon Islands this Friday.
This was after they beat New Caledonia 3-0 in the semi-final of the Sol2023 Pacific Games yesterday. In the other semifinal PNG walloped Samoa 5-1. Kula team manager Naziah Ali- Krishna told SUNsports that it was history in the making.
She said the players played to the game plan that was set as they knew that New Caledonia would be at its best.

Fiji led 1-0 at halftime when robust Ema Mereia slammed in the opening goal in the 25th minute.
They extended the lead in the 50th minute through striker Cerna Nasau before Vanisha Kumar scored the final goal in the 67th minute.
