Fijiana 7s Registers 2 Wins To Qualify For Quarters

The battle for the fourth spot in the HSBC Women’s World Sevens Series standing is now on at the Toulouse Sevens in France.

The battle for the fourth spot in the HSBC Women’s World Sevens Series standing is now on at the Toulouse Sevens in France.

On the first day, the Fiji Airways Fijiana sevens rugby side beat Spain 47-7 and Japan 26-14 to qualify for the Cup quarterfinal.

So was Pool C top seed Great Britain who edged Japan 19-12 before beating Spain 33-12.

The Fijiana takes on Great Britain at 7.37pm tonight to decide the Pool winners.

In Pool B, Ireland opened their campaign with a 27-7 win over hosts France before losing 33-12 to Australia. Barring an upset,

Ireland should be able to beat Brazil tonight to qualify for the Cup quarterfinal.

Fiji, Ireland and Great Britain are chasing for the fourth spot in the standings to automatically qualify for next year’s Paris Olympic Games in France.
