The Fijiana 7s side are in a tough pool of the next round of the HSBC World Sevens Series in Spain from January 21-23.
The Rusila Nagasau- captained side face defending series champions and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games gold medal winners New Zealand in Pool B. Also, in the pool are United States of America (USA) and Canada.
The Fijians took New Zealand to the wire during the Tokyo Olympic Games semifinal where they bowed out 22-17.
In Dubai, for the second time the Fijiana side reached their second Cup final only to bow to Australia 15-5 and are now in second place of the HSBC Series points table.
In Pool A, series leaders Australia face Spain, Ireland and Poland. France top Pool C followed by Russia, Brazil and England.
Nakoci shines
Fijiana utility Aloesi Nakoci was placed second during the DHL Impact Player standings.
Nakoci made 13 tackles, 6 breaks, 6 offloads, 18 carries for 61 points while leading the table is Australia captain Charlotte Caslick with 75- 8 tackles, 6 breaks, 9 offloads and 31 carries.
During the second round of the Dubai tournament, Nakoci was the Fijiana 7s team top try scorer with 6 tries followed by Reapi Uluinasau with 4 while Sesenieli Donu came third with three tries.
