The saga concerning the appointment of the Flying Fijians head coach has taken another twist.
Last Friday, Fiji Rugby Union interim Trustees chairman Peter Mazey indicated in an email to SUNsports that Franck Boivert (top inset) had not applied for the head coach's job.
"I just wish to clarify one issue you keep bringing up with regard to Franck Boivert," Mazey stated in his email.
"In checking with our recruitment agency (Global Elite Sports) they confirm that they never received an application from Franck Boivert nor did he contact them at any time."
However, when contacted in the weekend Boivert told SUNsports that he had applied for the head coach's job.

"I did apply on the FRU website as proved by my browsing history of my website. I ask FRU to check their history on Friday, December 8 (2023). Thanks," Boivert said. Boivert in December, last year, also informed the media that he had applied for the Flying Fijians head coach's job.
The French national who has been living in Fiji for 27 years said yesterday that he did his application on the web page itself.
He said after he completed the application, the reply was "Thank you, your application is being processed".
Boivert said he never received any confirmation on his email. This is the second incident to occur during the process.
The earlier one was on Flying Fijians acting head coach Senirusi Seruvakula who was notified in an email that he was not shortlisted but however, a few hours later he received another email apologising for a misunderstanding and was told to attend the interview since he was among the shortlisted.
Meanwhile, former Flying Fijians assistant coach, Daryl Gibson, has ended speculation by indicating that he did not apply for the Flying Fijians head coach's job.
"I have greatly enjoyed my involvement with the Flying Fijians and am incredibly proud of our success in the Rugby World Cup 2023. I eagerly anticipate following the team's 2024 schedule and trust the team will continue exciting rugby fans in the future and be the pride of Fiji," he said.
Gibson said his focus now was on his current role as Head of High Performance Coaching at High Performance Sport New Zealand.
