Three Ratu Kadavulevu School Under-19 students are having talks with a French club.
They are Mosese Taramecegu, Sulio Loka and Nemani Kurucake. The three were part of the winning U19 team that defeated Queen Victoria School, 29-21, during the Vodafone Deans trophy final last Saturday.
The communication has been confirmed by RKS U19 head coach Philip Halofaki.
“There are still talks for the three boys with a club in France,” Halofaki said. “We have not finalised anything yet.”
The Frenchmen were in RKS at the last week of school after the Deans semifinals. Captain Loka said it was a surprise to be considered this early.
“I will wait on God’s will and plan, whatever it is,” Loka said.
“For now, I will continue to train hard and find a Skipper Cup team to play in.
“I was surprised to be called as I am the smallest man in the team, but I’ve always trusted in the Lord; they (the French) have been here since the semifinal.
“I’ve always banked on a Bible verse which says, “I the Lord, will make it happen at the right time.”
The French men conducted speed trial for the trio as well as heights and briefed them to continue training.
