Women's rugby in the country is still fighting to be on a level playing field with our men.
This matter was raised by WeetBix Raluve Trophy team coaches and manageresses during the national quarterfinals.
They are pleading to the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) and the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union (FSSRU) to consider giving them a better venue, like the boy's competition.
They have voiced dissatisfaction about the poor conditions of the Suva Grammar School grounds, where the national quarterfinals were staged.
The ground was muddy and not playable, which posed risk for injuries.
The coaches also questioned the equality of women in rugby:
Teams from Nabala Secondary School and Khalsa College from the North, which took part in the Under- 16 and U18 grades respectively; did not expect to play in such conditions after spending thousands of dollars in travel, meals and accommodation costs.
