HFC's Big Win Sees Them Take Top Spot In Ovaltine Suva Business House Futsal Soccer League

Defending champions Fiji Sun regained some pride after drawing their second pool match by one all against Acton Fiji.

With 32 teams participating in this year’s Ovaltine Suva Business House Futsal Soccer League, each round of games is played in two phases whereby 16 teams partici­pate in each phase over a period of two weeks.

Following the successful completion of both the phases of round one last week, the first phase of round two was played on Tuesday night with eight matches being played in a fast-paced action at the National Hockey Centre in Laucala Bay.

Defending champions Fiji Sun regained some pride after drawing their second pool match by one all against Acton Fiji.

“Teams which recorded back to back wins in their second respective pools games are HFC, Gokals, Pacific Customs and Westpac,” tour­nament organiser Alan Kumar of Bula Events Group said.

“The highlight of the night was the match between HFC and Fiji Times as the latter got thumped 7-0 in their second pool game,” Kumar added.

HFC team manager Jasnit Vikash who is beam­ing with joy said they are grateful to the organ­isers of the Suva Business House Futsal Soccer League for giving them an opportunity to show­case their talents.

“It is a very well organised event which has attracted interest of huge corporate teams,” Vi­kash said.

He said the win against Fiji Times was not easy and was the result of hard work, determination and strong willpower.

The games continue on Tuesday next week at the same venue and will carry on for the next 14 weeks.
