Sevuloni Mocenacagi has apologised to fans for letting the team down at the Sydney 7s over the weekend.

The Nukuilau, Navosa native was red carded for a dangerous tackle on New Zealand’s Scott Gregory in the Cup semifinal. Fiji lost 14-36.

The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s rep sought forgiveness as the team arrived at the Nadi International Airport last night.

“I did not expect it to be that serious but it came at a price and I’m sorry for letting the team and the country down,” Mocenacagi said.

Mocenacagi has urged fans to continue supporting the team as there are six more tournament left to play.

“We do encounter a lot of things as such but given another chance I will prove myself,” he said.

The side arrived in Nadi yesterday without head coach Gareth Baber after finishing fourth at the Sydney 7s losing to England 19-17 in the 3rd place playoff.
