IBO Asia Pacific Title is Here to Stay: Winston Hill Tells

Fiji’s super welterweight boxing champion Winston Hill will not leave any stones unturned as he aim to win the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Asia Pacific super welterweight title at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, on Saturday.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallists takes on rising Australian super welterweight boxer Jyl Wright in the main bout of the South Pacific Boxing Promotions programme.
“I want to win this belt and keep it in Fiji,” Hill told SUNsports yesterday.

“Preparation has been going very well. My body is fit as ever after one fight after the other.
“I know my opponent is also fit so I am looking at 10 rounds of boxing and will put on a good show.”

Hill is also using this fight to gauge his fitness as he is also the ambassador for the Spartans Trifecta that will be staged in Nadi at the end of the year.
Vancouver based- SPBP director Mohammed Shameem visited Hill at his Suva camp and was happy with his level of fitness.
“I’m here to check on him and to be honest he is very fit,” said Shameem.
“This kind of fight has never taken place in Fiji especially where the IBO title is at stake.
“I do assure boxing fans they are in for a good time.”
Building up to fight day, Shameem will visit other boxers in the Western Division before he waits for the arrival of overseas boxers and IBO top officials.
