Dudley High School, PEMAC Head of Department, Nikunj Prasad, was excited with the turnout of students at their school meet yesterday.

He was also grateful to have booked the ANZ Stadium for this year’s interhouse, as they missed out last year.

Prasad indicated having their meet on the third week of school, gives them enough time to prepare for the Suva Zone One meet.

Despite the challenges faced by COVID-19 and the two tropical cyclones, he was happy with the support from students, teachers and parents.

“Actually we started our training last year, we had specialist trainers to train our athletes in different fields,” he said.

“Unfortunately due to COVID, we had to start fresh for this year.

“It was really challenging to get this event done in only three weeks. I’m very grateful to our Principal, management board and Parents – teachers association board, for supporting us is such a short timing doing payments,” he added.

“And I’m very grateful to all my staff that their cooperation has made us come this far.

“As soon as school started we started training, so it is a blessing in disguise as we have more time to prepare for our zone.

“We are looking at the zone at the moment, Coca-Cola will come later.

“Whoever proves themselves, we will work with them, to get their personal best done.

“Wherever we were in last’s year zone meet, we want to improve from there.”

Dudley High School is in Suva Zone One with schools such as Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, Nasinu Secondary School and Ballantine Memorial School.

Meanwhile the Coca-Cola Games will be held on April 22-24.
