Lucretia Magistris will be the trump card for the Italian team at the 2019 IWF World Junior Weightlifting Championship that will be held in Suva from June 1- 8.

Magistris set a new record in the snatch at the European Junior Championship with a lift of 90kg in the women’s 55kg category and she grabbed a gold medal in the snatch at the European Senior.

Coach Pietro Roca believes with the European Weightlifting academy set-up in Rome has added boost to the young lifters who have just returned from the European Junior Championship.

“We have been preparing for this world championships, 11 months non-stop for our athletes.

“We hope they get good results and probably win medals. They had a good physical preparation, they are ready for this,” Roca added.
