Junior Binnu Crowned Super Fly Champ
Junior Binnu Singh, is the new Fiji Super Flyweight champion after beating journeyman Ritesh Goundar on unanimous points’ decision, at the American International School Hall in Nadi on Saturday night.

Junior Binnu Singh, is the new Fiji Super Flyweight champion after beating journeyman Ritesh Goundar on unanimous points’ decision, at the American International School Hall in Nadi on Saturday night.
Hailing from Kasanukunuku settlement in Navosa, Singh continued from where his dad and former Fiji lightweight champ Binnu ‘Valley Tiger’ Singh had left off.
“It was a good fight especially winning my first belt,” Singh said.
“I’m looking for more fights. I’m following my father’s footsteps in boxing.
“There is more to learn and to fight a veteran like Ritesh is great learning experience. “I thank the fans and my family for their support.”
In the main bout Sikeli ‘The Phantom’ Senidoko drew with hard hitting Siliveni Nawai.
Boxing Commission of Fiji director West Usman Lale Ali said more promotions have been lined-up.
“It’s great to see boxing back,” he added.
Promoter Freddy Chand said they are planning on another big promotion in August to be staged at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
Results: Sikeli Senidoko drew Siliveni Nawai, Jnr Binnu Singh beat Ritesh Goundar on UPD, Apisai Naciqa stopped Opeti Tagi in the 4th round, Jnr Farzan lost to Gabirieli Ravalawa, Abhay Chand drew with Robin Hazleman, Moreen Neumia beat Karalaini Lomaitivi on points, Fredrick Chand TKO win over Shefrazud Dean, Manoa Tuiyaro beat Sireli Navua on disqualification for punching after the bell.
