The Kadavu women’s rugby team wants to end their promotion relegation campaign against Cakaudrove on a high note.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Kadavu women’s assistant manager Evisake Bainivalu said they have rested well after arriving in Savusavu.
“The players are looking forward to the match against Cakaudrove and we’ve told them to play their hearts out since this is their last match for the season,” she said.
“We will need to work on our communication within the team on and off the field.”
Bainivalu said the players were aware of what is needed of them in this challenge.
“The team’s strength lies in the players’ chemistry as they know each other’s style of play.
“Teamwork and communication were our strongest skillset in our match against Tailevu last week.”
Bainivalu said they would need to work harder to win and cement their spot in next year’s ANZ Marama Cup competition.
“This team has been playing matches on a weekly basis with a week’s rest from the start of the season.

“We’re very impressed with the player’s dedication since it is our first year and they’ve put on a good performance.”
Bainivalu said their team has won the Ranadi Cup and is likely to book a spot in the Marama Cup.
“I would like to thank our executive committee members that have been supporting the team throughout the season.
“We told the players to do their best and enjoy this game against Cakaudrove.”
Bainivalu had urged Kadavu people living in Vanua Levu to turn up in numbers at Ratu Ganilau Park, Savusavu, tomorrow to support the team.
The other promotion relegation match is between Tailevu and Navosa.
