Kilner also indicated that Team Fiji is progressing well in their preparations for the Games.

“We currently have an extended squad, and we will finalise the names in a few months’ time. swimmers, lawn bowls players and parathletes. So, overall, the team is shaping up well.”

Kilner highlighted that events like the baton relay inspire young athletes to start their sporting journey.

“There is always a pathway. Athletes need a starting point and events like this encourage them to join sport. Fiji has so much talent.” she said.

Clean-up campaign

Fiji will contribute through a national clean-up campaign on Saturday from 9am to 12pm at My Suva Park and Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi.
