With three more rounds of games to play, the Vodafone Premier League is getting interesting.

It will be a tough battle for the B.O.G champs Labasa this weekend when they face the 2018 Vodafone Premier League champions Lautoka at Ratu Cakobau Park.

In what will be the repeat of the 2019 B.O.G final, the Babasiga Lions will be eager to maintain their winning run against the Sugar City boys.

Last week, these two teams game was postponed due to bad weather.

Table-toppers Ba will be aiming for a win against Nadi this week, which will secure them the league title for a record 21 times.

Suva will be flexing their muscles too, as they have a chance to finish second mathematically.

With 16 points in the bag, the capital city boys will play Labasa this week, hoping for maximum points.

Relegation

On the other side of the table, Tavua, Nasinu and Rewa will be fighting to stay in the premier league next season.

Tavua are on 9 points, Nasinu on 10 points and Rewa on 11 points.

This week (matchday 12) Nasinu will play Tavua while Rewa will host Lautoka at Ratu Cakobau Park.

The three teams will be gunning for a win to secure a place in the top flight.

In the following week (matchday 13), Tavua will play Lautoka, Labasa host Nasinu and Ba will battle out with Rewa.

Matchday 14, which will also be the concluding week for Vodafone Premier League, Rewa will face Tavua while Suva plays Nasinu, classed as the battle of the neighbours.

Vodafone Senior League

In this weekend fixtures, on Saturday, hot favourites Navua takes on a rattled Savusavu side at the Muanidevo Primary School grounds while second-favourites Lami play Dreketi. On Sunday Dreketi hosts Navua while Savusavu will face an uphill battle with Lami.

Savusavu football coach Rozal Hussein said that their chances of winning the playoffs are slim.

“We will come for a win, though our preparation time is less and the players need rest.

“We will regroup today to prepare for the two games,” Hussein said.

On the other hand, if the results of this weekend’s playoff are in favour or Navua and Lami, a second leg of the fixture will be played where Lami will face avua for the senior league title. In the first leg, Navua were victors by a goal.
