Labasa Sangam Ends 15-year Drought
The Labasa Sangam (SKM) College finally broke their 15-year drought after winning the Digicel Fiji Secondary Schools Championship Under-17 boy's title.

The Labasa Sangam (SKM) College finally broke their 15-year drought after winning the Digicel Fiji Secondary Schools Championship Under-17 boy's title.
They defeated a tough Vashist Muni College side of Navua 1-0 in the final at Subrail Park in Labasa, this morning.
The Northerners played with a lot of heart as they wanted to make their supporters proud.

The Ravneel Pratap coached- side displayed quality defence to keep their opponents at bay throughout the game.
Pratap said Sangam last won the title when players like former Labasa senior men's football and current national goalkeeper, Akuila Mataisuva, played in 2008.
He was grateful that they had hosted the tournament in Labasa and reclaimed the title on their home soil.
"My boys played their hearts out and I thank them for their dedication in the team with a same dream to win," he indicated.
Special thanks, he says, was to parents, teachers and school principal for supporting their children while preparing for the tournament.
Team unity was the golden mantra for Sangam in their win.
In terms of grassroots player development and increase in player pool for Labasa district, Pratap, said his team has capable players to represent the district in the future.
U15 title goes West
Lautoka’s Central College side took out the Under-15 final by beating Labasa College 2-1, this morning.
Central College avenged their round robin 5-0 loss to Labasa College.
CC players, Elijah Ravea and Valeni Rasorewa scored both goals in the first half of extra time to give the Lautoka-based school the win.
When approached, Ravea, was delighted to have scored and contributed to the win for his school.
"I thank God Almighty for the strength to help us win today against a strong Labasa College side," the young lad said.
He commended their opponents for a close final and being an excellent host.
“The prep talk before the extra time began, motivated the side to win,” said Elijah.
