Labasa Town Council starts Fiji FACT preps
He confirmed that Fiji FA has booked the venue and it is an exciting time for football fans in Vanua Levu to watch the country’s top eight teams play at Subrail Park.

Hosting a major football tournament is a big boost to any town’s economy.
The decision by the Fiji Football Association to host the Digicel Fiji FACT in Labasa has been welcomed by the town’s business sector.
Labasa Town Council special administrator chairperson, Paul Jaduram, told SUNsports on Thursday, it was a proud moment for them when Subrail Park was chosen as the tournament venue.

The first week of the tournament will be from May 31 to June 2. The semifinals and final will played on June 8-9 however it could be staged in the same venue based on the qualification of the home side.
The Fiji FACT was earlier booked for the HFC Bank Stadium but later it was discovered by the Fiji Sports Council that there was clash of dates due to an early booking of the Oceania Athletics Championship.

He said there are over 300 hotel rooms available for the Fiji FACT.
The main hotels in the town are Grand Eastern Hotel, Northwinds Hotel, Friendly North Inn, Takia Hotel, Northpole Hotel, Galaxy Hotels and Apartment and Hotel 88 and Riverview Hotel.
The other additional rooms are at Richards Apartment, Discount Apartments and White Diamond Apartments.
Labasa football coach, Ravneel Pratap, welcomed the announcement and believed this would motivate players to perform on their home turf.
“We will have the home ground backing, but, we will feel the pressure, but, pressure is good to perform at our level best,” he said.
Pratap believes winning the Fiji FACT title at home would be a sweet achievement.
