Lakeba Win Association Cup, Nadi Challenge Next

Lakeba are the new holder of the Cricket Fiji’s As­sociation Cup after beat­ing Moce by five wickets on Wednesday.

Moce successfully defended the Cup in the last six chal­lenge matches since February last year.

They batted first and scored 89 runs in 26 overs all out while Lakeba scored 36 runs before lunch break.

Lakeba resumed batting after the break and scored 90 runs in total within 23 overs with the fall of 5 wickets, and another 5 to spare.

Nadi will challenge Lakeba next with the date to be con­firmed later.

Meanwhile, in the Easter Championship, defending champions Suva Warriors were beaten by Ono-i-Lau by 3 wick­ets on day one.

Results:

Game 5: Cicia batted first and scored 115 runs, CF Develop­ment then batted and scored 119 runs. CF Development won by 1 wicket.

Game 6: Suva Crusaders bat­ted first and scored 67 runs. Komo then batted and scored 70 runs. Komo won by 6 wickets.

Game 7: Ono-i-Lau batted first and scored 118 runs. Oneata then batted and scored 119 runs with a fall of 6 wickets. Oneata won by 4 wickets
