Lee Retains Fiji Open Title In Style

Local professional golfer Sam Lee retained the Digicel Fiji Open title with a score of 209 during the 50th Anniversary Fiji Open Gold Championships at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday.
Behind Lee was Overall Gross 1 runner-up Anasa Seruvatu with 211 while at Overall Gross 2 runner-up was Tomasi Tuivuna with 213.
In the Junior Division, Shakeel Pillai won on a gross score of 233 over three days. In the Junior Overall Nett Winner went to Jack Tuivuci with the score of 213.
In the Overall Gross Division, Abid Hussain of Nadi Airport Golf Club led the pack with a score of 222 closely followed by Mohammed Rizwan on 230.
In the Nett Division, Sarvesh Devan was the wiiner with a score of 205, followed by Vidhya Lakhan on 217. In the Ladies Division Gross went to Dawi Jee who led the field with a score 235 followed by Merelita McCarthy on a score of 262.
Ladies Nett division leader is Sainimere Yee on a score of 219. Runner up is Sunita Matthews on a score of 230.
The competition ended last night with the prize-giving event to the respective winners by the President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote.
