LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Portugal's Victory

Days prior to our clash with the historical and victorious Portugal side in final pool play in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, I had alerted our own Fiji Water Flying Fijians that Portugal would come out "with all gun's blazing".

I was spot on. The rest is history.

Talking about history; our Flying Fijians tend to fall against "minnows".

We unceremoniously and shamefully fell to Uruguay in recent memory. Portugal effectively stunned us yesterday morning, Monday, October 09.

Somehow, rather miraculously also, against all foreseeable odds, we brilliantly accounted for mega-millions financed England and Australia, in four short weeks.

Mark my words. England Rose will seek 'redemption' in our quarter-final clash.

I pray our Biblical "David and Goliath" re-lives its fabled story.

Can I take this special opportunity, Fiji Day 2023, to invite all my fellow Fijians to offer prayers of Divine Inspiration for our very own Fiji Water Flying Fijians every good wish and success as they take on a hurt England - out to dish out a massive revenge. God bless Fiji, forever more.
