One of Fiji's rugby stars was among the La Rochelle pack that travelled to play the Heineken Champions Cup grandfinal at the lion's den in Dublin, Ireland and came out victorious.

Levani Botia, the centre turned flanker, starred for the French club as they beat Leinster 27-26 to retain the prestigous Champions Cup.

La Rochelle trailed 23-14 at halftime and came out firing in the second half.

He is now a top contender for the Flying Fijians open side flanker for the Rugby World Cup, set to start on September 8.

According to iNews, the 34-yearold Fijian was unheard of when recruited by La Rochelle, then newly promoted to the Top 14, nine years ago.
