A last minute surge by challengers Macuata saw them hold Yasawa 30-30 in the Bainimarama Shield clash at Churchill Park, Lautoka, this afternoon.
The Northerners took a handy 20-12 lead before Yasawa came back to lead 30-23 just before full-time. A converted try by Macuata levelled the scores allowing Yasawa to retain the Shield.
The Iliesa Tanivula coached- Yasawa side now prepares for their INKK Fiji Rugby Farebrother Trophy challenge against Nadroga at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, next Saturday.
