The LV Stingray side will be participating in the 2022 Fiji Bitter Marist 7’s for the second time around and they intend to do better than 2020.
Managing Director, Jerry Tuicakau said the side is made up of youths from different backgrounds.
“We want to be part of developing rugby from the grassroot level in the country, therefore we formed this team as a pathway to national level for unemployed youths,” Tuicakau pesaid.
“The team has also participated in most of the local tournaments such as the Marist 7s, Savusavu 7s, Uluinakau 7s, Uprising 7s, Nawaka 7s where we really did well.”
“Our mission in this year’s Fiji Bitter Marist 7s is to go beyond what we achieved in the 2020 Marist 7s tournament.”
Tuicakau said the players are also knocking on the Fiji Rugby Union’s door for a possibility of an inclusion in the Super 7s Series.
“We’re hoping our expression of interest to FRU will have a positive outcome,” Tuicakau said.
“We have a group of players who have the skills and talents that we would like them to expose it in the local 7s arena and one day don the white jumper."
