Malawi Fends Off Fiji Pearls
Malawi stamped out an over anxious Fiji Pearls side 54-47 in the first round of the four-day Pacific Aus Sports netball series in Brisbane on Monday night.

Malawi stamped out an over anxious Fiji Pearls side 54-47 in the first round of the four-day Pacific Aus Sports netball series in Brisbane on Monday night.
Malawi is ranked Number Six in the World Netball ranking while Fiji is ranked 17th.
In the last match of the day, a competitive opening quarter had the Fiji Pearls hot on the heels of the Malawi Queens who led by two goals at the first break.
Spurred on by a lively crowd the intensity lifted in the second quarter with Malawi reacting best to the pressure and breaking away to a seven-goal lead before half time.
