McComber Does Not Give Up

Silivia McComber knows that travelling from Taveuni to Suva for the Netball Fiji high performance academy camp would pay off one day.
The 17-year old Somosomo, Taveuni mid-court player has not missed camp. Camp rounded up last Saturday.
The former Niusawa Methodist High School student is optimistic that the academy is a stepping stone to her achieving her netball goal.
She started playing at the age of nine. McComber thought her Suva trips for the national primary school competition would be cut short after her dad passed away when was in class seven. Her mother who is originally from Bau, Tailevu refused to let that happen.
“I represented Taveuni from Somosomo District School at the national competition. I was inspired by my mother who played netball in her youth.
“My dad usually accompanied me when I played in Suva and when he passed away, I thought my netball trips would end.
