Rugby League convert Iosefo Masikau Baleiwairiki has impressed Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Mick Bryne with his debut performance against Melbourne Rebels in the Shop N Save Fijian Drua pre-season trial match at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

Fondly known by rugby fans as Iosefo Masi, he had signed up with the Drua after a short stint with Australia’s NRL (National Rugby League) club North Queensland.

Masi, a member of the Fijian men’s sevens team that won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and recently the Rugby World Cup Sevens was strong in defence and made strong carries throughout the warm-up match.
