Nadi Futsal Gets Timely Help

Western Futsal champions Nadi received a major boost from major sponsor Reliance Pharmacy prior to the 2nd Vodafone FUTSAL Inter-District Championship which kicks off at the FMF Gymnasium tomorrow..

The Shafim Buksh-captained side received $1400 from Reliance Pharmacy managing director Ryan Prasad yesterday.

Prasad said: “We obviously believe in physical activities and sports that leads to well being of the general population. This is a way of supporting the community in Nadi through futsal.”

Nadi Football Association vice-president and team director Mohin Rafiq said: “We are grateful for the timely financial assistance”

The team features William Valentine, Etuwate KaveniI, Josevata Dugucagi, Bir Khan, Shafeem Buksh, Sanjit Kumar, Surjason Sami, Mohammed Shalmeen,

Krishneel Kumar, Rodrick Chand, Shivneel Pillay, Rajneel Kumar and Shelvin Chand.

Nadi is pooled alongside Tailevu Naitasiri, Tavua and Rewa in the three-day event at the FMF Gymnasium on Friday, with finals scheduled for Sunday.

Nadi face Tailevu/Naitasiri in the opening round on Friday, 6.15pm before playing Tavua and Rewa on Saturday respectively.
